GARDAWORLD Sued for $100 Million Following an Armored Car Accident

GARDAWORLD, a private security firm, is being sued for $100 million after one of its armored vehicles allegedly caused a motor vehicle accident when it made an illegal left-hand turn. The GARDAWORLD armored vehicle was driving in the right lane of a road in Arlington, Texas, when it made an abrupt, illegal left-hand turn across the left lane. A motorcyclist, who was driving in the left lane at the time, crashed into the armored vehicle and died. Surveillance video caught the entire incident on film, leading the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office to charge the GARDAWORLD driver with vehicular homicide.

The lawsuit also alleges that GARADAWORLD has a “history of failing to adequately supervise armored truck drivers, both in terms of their vetting and conduct behind the wheel.” Further, GARDAWORLD’s driver has a history of speeding tickets and traffic citations and should not have been behind the wheel of a heavy commercial vehicle.
