Through high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution, Efrain takes great pride in representing the best interests of his clients – because Who You Hire Matters™.

Efrain Gonzalez Jr. was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston, and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law, graduating near the top of his respective classes. Efrain excelled in trial advocacy at South Texas, known for its nationally renowned advocacy program, winning a best speaker award in competition. He also excelled academically, being awarded the highest academic score in Aviation Law and Products Liability, and was repeatedly on the Dean’s Honors List. During his law school tenure, Efrain also had the opportunity to work for the Office of the Attorney General of Texas, and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

Efrain’s litigation skills have shined from the onset of his career, as he won his first jury trial as lead counsel within his first year of practice, and he has successfully litigated hundreds of cases as both lead counsel and co-counsel to resolution, ranging from settlements to jury verdicts. Prior to joining Abraham Watkins, Efrain was a litigation attorney at a Texas based litigation firm, an Am Law 200 national law firm, and his own law firm – gaining direct experience in representing a range of clients, from individuals to multimillion dollar companies, in transactions and litigation.

During his decade long career, Efrain’s litigation experience has ranged from financial fraud and contractual disputes to personal injury and wrongful death. While on the defense side, Efrain was part of litigation teams that defended against lawsuits involving millions of dollars in personal injury claims against multimillion dollar corporations. Efrain’s prior work defending corporations in litigation provides him with a unique understanding of how they evaluate and defend claims. Efrain’s inside knowledge now informs his efforts to seek justice on behalf of those who have been wronged or severely injured due to the fault of others.
