Kolcraft Recall

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with Kolcraft Enterprises Inc., announced a voluntary recall of strollers due to fingertip amputation and laceration hazards to children and adults handling the stroller.

Kolcraft Enterprises Inc. is recalling around 36,000 of the Contours Options strollers. The recalled strollers have model numbers starting with ZL002, ZL005, ZL008, ZL015 and ZL018.

It is possible for a child or consumer’s finger to get caught in the opening formed when locking and unlocking the hinge mechanism which is used to adjust the handlebars on the strollers. This can lead to laceration or amputation by any user.

The strollers were made in China and sold at juvenile product specialty stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Target.com, and ToysRUs.com between January 2006 and June 2012. The law prohibits the distribution or reselling of consumer recalled products.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the product and contact Kolcraft to receive a free repair kit. For additional information, contact Kolcraft at (800) 453-7673 or visit the firm’s website at www.kolcraft.com.
