427,000 Kia Tellurides Recalled Over Rollaway Risk

Recently, more than 427,407 Kia Telluride SUVs were recalled due to potential roll aways while in park. The roll aways are caused by the right front drive-shift and the intermediate shafts in the vehicles not fully engaging. The improper assembly increases the risk of unintended vehicle movement, therefore increasing the likelihood of potential crashes, injury, or death. The recall affects the 2020 to 2024 Kia Telluride SUVs manufactured between January 9, 2019, and October 19, 2024.

Telluride owners reported that their vehicles were rolling away while in park and making strange noises. Additionally, owners felt vibrations and struggled to shift the car into gear. Telluride owners need to bring their vehicles to a Kia dealership for updates to the installed electronic parking brake software. All owners affected will be reimbursed for the update.
