Honda Recalling Some Accord, HR-V Vehicles

Honda is recalling select 2023-2024 Accord and HR-V vehicles due to a missing piece in the front seat belt pretensioners. This missing component could potentially compromise the effectiveness of the seat belt system, posing a safety risk to the occupants of the vehicle. Regulators said this means that passengers may not be properly restrained in a crash. This recall affects a substantial number of vehicles, and it is essential for affected vehicle owners to act promptly.

The National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration credited the issue to an error made during assembly. More than 300,000 Accords and HR-Vs are potentially affected.

As of November 16, 2023, Honda had received seven warranty claims, but no reports of injuries or deaths related to the faulty pretensioners, according to documents published by the NHTSA.

It is crucial for individuals who have been impacted by this recall to seek legal counsel to understand their rights and options.
