Officials Identified One Dead, and 3 Injured after Crash Involving Freightliner Truck on I-20 in Smith County

Officials identified the man who was killed and the three who were injured after getting ejected from a truck on Interstate 20 near Lindale in Smith County during a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday Night, June 6, 2023.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (“DPS”), Khaled Al Masalmah of Fort Worth, was driving a 2012 GMC Sierra with other people as passengers behind a 2020 Freightliner Truck Tractor towing a 2020 Reitnouer semi-trailer in the westbound side on I-20.

Al Masalmah’s vehicle crashed into the back left side of the freightliner, and Al Masalmah lost control and rolled over, reported by DPS. Al Masalmah was pronounced dead at Tyler Hospital. The three passengers of Al Masalmah’s vehicle were transported to Tyler hospital for their injuries, after getting ejected from the 2012 GMC Sierra.
