A recall has been issued by Chevron North America for the EGO Power+ Cordless Brushless Hedge Trimmers. The recall is due to a laceration hazard and applies to about 85,000 hedge trimmers manufactured prior to March 30, 2019, and specifically involves the Model HT2410. The hedge trimmers have gray, black, and green housing, and a yellow 24-inch dual-action steel blade in addition to various switches and triggers. The EGO logo, model number (HT2410), and manufacturing date code are clearly displayed on the trimmers.

Consumers are advised to stop using the trimmers immediately and contact Chevron, who will provide a free repair of the rear trigger switch. The recall was initiated after Chevron received 34 reports of the trimmers starting unexpectedly, which resulted in eight lacerations requiring stitches. The affected trimmers were sold nationwide at various home improvement stores, hardware stores, and authorized dealers, as well as through online retailers, from September 2017 to March 2020. The price ranges from $150 to $220.
