Two Dead, Seven Injured After High Speed Car Crash in Upper Valley

Around 2:47 a.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2023 a high speed crash occurred in the Upper Valley near the 500 block of Country Club Road. Police officials say that the crash occurred when the driver of a black Cadillac CTS was driving at a high rate of speed, came to a roundabout, and struck a landscape boulder as well as a traffic sign at the roundabout. As a result of the impact, the vehicle veered right and went up onto a right curb, striking a tree so hard that it forced the vehicle back to the center of the roadway.

The driver and front passenger of the vehicle died immediately due to the force of the wreck and were pronounced dead at the scene. Seven back-seat occupants of the vehicle were all injured and received medical treatment for their injuries. Investigators believe the driver of the vehicle may have been fleeing authorities in New Mexico (at a time before this wreck). Investigators have not yet determined whether the driver was intoxicated.
