Recently, Polaris recalled the RZR Pro XP and Turbo all-terrain vehicles due to a potential fire hazard. According to the CPSC or Consumer Product Safety Commission, “Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles and contact Polaris or an authorized Polaris dealer to schedule repairs.”

Polaris recently notified consumers to stop riding the recalled vehicle due to the fire hazard and notified all dealers and registered owners. Consumers are able to take their recalled Polaris recreational vehicle to an authorized dealer for repairs for free. The problem stems from a fuel line that runs too close to the hot portion of the engine, creating a risk for combustion. The recall only covers the following years and make, Polaris Pro XP 4 years 2021-2023, and Polaris RZR turbo R 4, years 2022-2023.

All-Terrain vehicles are very popular for work and recreation. Generally, all-terrain vehicles can be handled safely, when used correctly, however, they also present serious hazards when it comes to fire safety. ATVs are typically fueled by gasoline, which is flammable and can easily ignite. In addition, ATVs are often used in dry, hot environments where the risk of wildfires is high. ATV fires can ignite from a variety of sources, including engine malfunctions, leaking or combusting fuel lines, or even a spark from the exhaust system.
