Fatal Crash in Houston, Intoxicated Driver Possible Cause

On December 11, 2022, a driver was killed in Houston, Texas in what seems to be a completely preventable car crash.

At approximately 1:00 am, a Toyota Camry sedan was stopped at a red light on the feeder road of Northwest Freeway and Dacoma Street, which is located just outside of the 610 loop near the Lazybook and Timbergrove neighborhood. A white pick up truck suddenly crashed into the back of the stopped Camry, causing a violent collision. The truck was reportedly speeding as well before crashing into the Camry. The person in the backseat of the Camry was killed as a result of the crash. The police are currently investigating whether intoxication played a factor in the cause of this crash.

Whether a driver is intoxicated due to drinking at a bar or restaurant could mean that the family who lost a loved one may have additional recourse on top of pursuing justice against the at fault driver. It takes a thorough investigation to understand whether a car crash is a simple motor vehicle crash where someone is operating a vehicle negligently, or if the crash was preventable in more than one way by other responsible persons or companies.
