AMAZON CHAIR RECALLS

On October 27, 2022, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that Amazon recalled their Desk Chairs due to fall and injury hazards.

Amazon recalled more than 11,400 of its desk chairs sold on Amazon.com from September 2021 through April 2022. The recall involves the Amazon Basics Executive Desk Chair sold in black, brown, and white and has padded armrests and five legs with rolling casters. Only chairs that have a horizontal plastic piece on the bottom of the caster bracket are included in this recall.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall alert, the desk chairs’ leg base can break, posing fall and injury hazards. Amazon has received at least thirteen (13) reports of leg bases breaking, including one report of a shoulder injury.
