Confidential Settlement Reached for Burn Victims at Church’s Chicken

Firm attorney Benny Agosto, Jr. has reached a confidential settlement against Church’s Chicken regarding an incident that occurred on August 1, 2016. On this particular day, two of Mr. Agosto’s clients were working at a Church’s Chicken when the kitchen floor collapsed into the crawl space beneath, causing the industrial deep fryers of hot grease to fall on top of them.

As a result, the clients sustained serious, life-threatening injuries, including burns to over 75% of their bodies. They were rushed by life-flight to the burn intensive care unit, where they remained in intensive care for months. To-date, they have undergone numerous surgeries, and continue medical treatment daily with extensive treatment into the future. The husband and three minor children of one of the clients, and the mother and father of the other client also recovered a confidential amount for their claims.

Through persistent efforts, the attorney for the families was able to reach a confidential settlement alleging Church’s Chicken was negligent for failing to maintain, inspect, and ensure the premises was reasonably safe. Although the total amount is confidential, the settlement reached provides a just resolution for their clients.
