Motorcyclist Dies in Collision with Tanker Truck Outside Lubrizol Corp. Plant

In the early morning hours on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, a motorcyclist collided with a big-rig tanker truck outside the Lubrizol Corporation chemical plant in east Harris County. Anson Guillory, the driver of the motorcycle, sustained life-threatening injuries and died as a result of the two-vehicle crash.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at approximately 6:10 a.m. in the 100 block of Tidal Road. Sheriff’s Deputies reported that the 18-wheeler was traveling northbound on Tidal Road and was turning into an entry gate at the Lubrizol Corporation plant, when Guillory, who was traveling southbound on Tidal Road, collided with the tanker truck.

Deputies at the scene said that after Guillory collided with the tanker truck, he slid underneath the truck and eventually came to rest in the entrance driveway of the Lubrizol Corporation plant. According to news reports, a LifeFlight medical helicopter transported Guillory to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Unfortunately, the injuries sustained by Guillory were too severe and Guillory was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
