28% Of Incidents Involve Use Of Cellphones

According to a study released by the National Safety Council, twenty-eight percent of traffic incidents occur when people talk on cellphones or send text messages while driving. The vast majority of those crashes, 1.4 million annually, are caused by cellphone conversations, and 200,000 are blamed on text messaging, according to the report from the Council. The Council is a nonprofit group recognized by congressional charter as a leader on safety.

We have represented many clients who have been injured in incidents where the other drivers were on their cellphones. These incidents change a person’s life forever, causing physical injuries to the person and emotional injuries to the person and his or her family.
