18-Wheeler Driver Wearing Noise-Canceling Headphones Kills Five in Accident

A wrongful death lawsuit was filed against FedEx earlier this week. The lawsuit alleges that a FedEx 18-wheeler crashed into a bus full of people. The force of the impact caused the bus to veer off the road and hit an embankment, killing three people, and injuring 16 others. Further, after hitting the bus, the FedEx truck was rear-ended by a UPS truck, claiming the lives of the driver and the co-driver of the UPS truck.

According to the lawsuit, the driver of the FedEx 18-wheeler was wearing noise-canceling headphones. This prevented him from hearing warning alarms that were going off in his truck as he approached the bus.

The survivors of the wreck sustained a wide range of injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, broken necks, broken backs, and rib fractures. They will require extensive medical treatment in the future.

Commercial motor vehicle accidents like this one are entirely preventable. They are frequently the result of negligence or gross negligence.
