San Antonio Truck Crash Closes Loop 410

A truck accident in San Antonio closed all lanes on Loop 410 at the start of this week.

Authorities say that an 18-wheeler hauling Eagle Ford Shale oil-field waste crashed and badly damaged the roadway.

KENS5 reports that the driver lost control of his vehicle around 10 a.m. on Sunday. The surface of the road may have to be repaved due to the extent of the damage.

This truck accident caused “drilling mud” to coat the highway. The trucker was uninjured.

This is one of many recent truck accidents around the country. Oil and gas truck crashes are amount the most serious types of traffic accidents due to the hazardous nature of the truck cargo.

A truck carrying home heating oil crashed last Saturday near Gallatin, New York, about 100 miles north of New York City. Mid Hudson News reports that the driver lost control of his vehicle around 9:45 a.m. and hit a tree. The truck overturned and spilled 2,000 gallons of home heating oil on the roadway. The driver was hospitalized and it is unclear how serious his injuries are.
