2 killed, others injured in Texas car accident

When a car accident happens, those inside the vehicle or vehicles are at risk of serious injury or even death.

Two people were recently killed in a central Texas car accident as the result of a Chevrolet pickup truck running a red light and colliding with another pickup truck. The accident occurred on highway 195, with both victims dying at the scene of the crash.

According to police, the Chevrolet ran the red light, which led to it being hit on the side by a Ford. Five people were in the Ford at the time of the accident, with two ejected as a result of the collision, and one killed. A passenger in the Chevrolet was also killed.

Along with the two people who died in the car accident, five others were taken to area hospitals. Authorities noted that one was in critical condition with four others in stable condition.

Following the collision, traffic was detoured around the accident so that authorities would have time to investigate and clean up. At this time, police have not named those who were killed or injured in the accident.

Any type of car accident can lead to serious injury, death and extensive damage to the vehicles involved. In the event that one vehicle collides with the other, such as after running a stop sign or traffic light, the chance of fatalities is very real.

If a person is injured in a vehicle accident or a loved one is killed, the victim or their family can consider their rights, including filing a claim against the at-fault party.
