(Houston, TX) Attorney Michelle Rice of the Houston personal injury law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner has been recognized on the Texas Rising Stars list for 2021. This marks Michelle’s third consecutive year to be included on this annual list, which is published in the Texas Rising Stars issue of the Super Lawyers magazine and Texas Monthly magazine.

Attorneys named to the Rising Stars list go through the same extensive selection process as Super Lawyers and are selected based on nominations, independent research by Super Lawyers, and peer evaluation by practice area. To be eligible for inclusion, attorneys must be under the age of 40 or in practice for 10 years or less. No more than 2.5 percent of eligible attorneys are named to the Rising Stars list, which indicates that Michelle is among a prestigious list of top young lawyers in Texas.

Michelle has been a trial attorney at Abraham Watkins for the last five years and is admitted to practice in all federal district courts in Texas. In 2021, she was promoted to Senior Associate and now serves as the first female member of the firm’s Management Committee. Her legal practice focuses on a wide range of catastrophic personal injury matters, including wrongful death, automobile and trucking accidents, medical malpractice, products liability, premises liability, and workplace injury. She is currently involved in litigation pertaining to the mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 1, 2017 and represents over 1,100 victims and family members of individuals who were killed during the shooting. In 2018, Michelle obtained a verdict that was ranked number three in the products liability category of the Top Texas Verdicts & Settlements published by the Texas Lawyer. Her verdict was also ranked among the Top 10 Personal Injury Verdicts in Texas by TopVerdict.com as well as Texas’ Top Plaintiffs’ Verdicts by Verdict Search. 

Michelle is a cum laude graduate of Syracuse University. After obtaining her B.A. from Syracuse, where she majored in Political Science and History, she moved to Houston and attended South Texas College of Law Houston on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. During law school, Michelle received three different CALI Awards for receiving the highest grade in three of her classes.
