Spurlock has joined the firm as Of Counsel, bringing over 20 years of valuable litigation and personal injury experience. Her current legal practice at Abraham Watkins focuses on a wide range of personal injury matters, including, wrongful death, catastrophic injury, plant explosions, workplace injuries, product liability, and truck accidents. She has been Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2009 and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.
Kim opened her own law firm in Houston in 2003 and since then has handled thousands of cases including personal injury on both the plaintiff and defense side, wrongful death, industrial accidents, and a variety of other civil litigation and personal injury matters. Over the course of her legal career, she has tried over 50 jury trials in courtrooms across Texas and has focused her practice on plaintiff personal injury work, using her extensive training and trial experience to obtain large settlements and verdicts on behalf of her clients.
Kim is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she received a degree in Sociology and a minor in Business. Following her undergraduate studies, she attended South Texas College of Law Houston, graduating cum laude and ranked #13 in her law school class. During law school, Kim was a member of the South Texas Law Review, a recipient of the Wayne W. Thomas Memorial Award for Legal Writing, and was on the Dean’s List five different semesters. She was also a member of Phi Delta Phi and an inductee of the Order of the Lytae.
Kim is active in the legal community as a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the College of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, and the Houston Trial Lawyers Association.
