Benny Agosto Jr Top Latino Leader Luncheon(Houston, TX) Attorney Benny Agosto, Jr., partner at the Houston personal injury law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner, has received the 2018 Top Latino Leaders Award from the National Diversity Council. Mr. Agosto was recognized for achieving success in his career and for his leadership while also helping to advance the Latino community. He received this award at the 4 th Annual National Latino Leadership Conference on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. The conference was hosted by the Council for Latino Workplace Equity (CLWE), an initiative of the National Diversity Council, and this year’s conference theme was Latino Leadership: Power of the Past, Force of the Future.

The Latino Leadership Conference is an annual leadership development event that gathers entrepreneurs, executives, innovators, educators, policy makers, and outstanding students. It is designed to create opportunity and change within the Latino community. Leaders across the nation are also recognized at the conference during an Awards Luncheon. Recipients of the Top Latino Leaders Award are selected based on their contributions to promote Latino talent and organizational success.

Mr. Agosto is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Over the last 23 years, he has represented hundreds of individuals who have been seriously injured and families who have lost loved ones as a result of negligence. The success he has achieved during his legal career and in the community has earned him honors on both a local and national level. He has been recognized by the State Bar of Texas, Houston Bar Association, South Texas College of Law Houston, Houston Baptist University, Anti-Defamation League, Litigation Counsel of America, and Latino Leaders magazine. Most recently, he was included in the 2019 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America© in the fields of Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs and Product Liability Litigation – Plaintiffs. He was also named to the Top 100: Houston Super Lawyers list for the second year and to the Texas Super Lawyers list for the 14 th year.

In addition to practicing law, Mr. Agosto has a history of leadership and community outreach. He is President-Elect of the Houston Bar Association, a former President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), and is the Co-Founder and President of the HNBA Legal Education Fund. This fund helps identify and provide financial assistance to programs that address education and the law within the nation’s Hispanic community and legal profession. He is also the President and Founder of the Mexican American Bar Association of Texas (MABATx) Foundation, which raises scholarship funds annually to benefit Hispanic law students in Houston and honors pioneers of the community. The Foundation has raised over $300,000 for scholarships since it was created.
