(Houston, TX) Attorney Benny Agosto, Jr., partner at the Houston personal injury law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner, has been named to the 2018 Top Latino Lawyers List by Latino Leaders Magazine. This marks Mr. Agosto’s second consecutive year to receive this honor. He was also recognized by the magazine as one of the Top Latino Leaders in the U.S. in 2016, as one of the 25 Most Influential Hispanic Lawyers in 2015, and as one of the 101 Most Influential Leaders in 2011 and 2012.

Latino Leaders Magazine is a national publication that strives to advance the Latino community while also connecting and promoting Latino leaders across the country. The Top Latino Lawyers list is published annually in the magazine, and in 2018 over 600 attorneys were nominated and reviewed. The selection process used by the magazine considers achievements, recognitions, community involvement, and affiliation with bar associations. Latino Leader Mr. Agosto is board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has secured numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for his clients over the course of his career. He has been representing individuals who have been seriously injured or families who have lost loved ones as a result of negligence since joining Abraham Watkins in 1998. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Agosto is also dedicated to improving the community. He is the President-Elect of the Houston Bar Association and is a former president of the Hispanic National Bar Association. He is the Founder and President of the Mexican-American Bar Association of Texas Foundation, which was established to encourage justice and leadership within the Hispanic community. The Foundation organizes an annual luncheon that provides scholarships to Hispanic law students at each of three Houston-based law schools, and over the last 13 years the Foundation has raised over $300,000 for these annual scholarships. Mr. Agosto also serves on the Board of Directors of Hope Disaster Recovery, a non-profit organization that helps communities recover following natural disasters, including Hurricane Harvey.

His successful client representation as well his history of community outreach has earned him honors on a local and national level. Most recently, Mr. Agosto was honored by the National Diversity Council with the 2018 Top Latino Leaders Award for the success he has achieved during his career and for his help to advance the Latino community. In 2018, he was also selected to the Top 100: Houston Super Lawyers list for the second year in a row and the Texas Super Lawyers list for the 14 th year. Selection to the Texas Super Lawyers list is reserved to the top five percent of attorneys practicing in Texas. He was also recognized in the 2019 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America© in the fields of Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs and Product Liability Litigation – Plaintiffs.
