Tragedy Strikes Family

Three of four family members died, and the other was seriously injured, in a rollover accident this week. An elementary school student, her 42 year old mother, and her 76 year old grandfather were all killed, and her grandmother was critically hurt, when their SUV was involved in a crash on U.S. 62. Dangerous Tire Recall

Michelin North America seems to have discovered a dangerous tread separation trend and is recalling 1.2 million tires in the United States. According to information found on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website, many of these recalled tires include some tires used as original equipment on full-size Ford vans, and the investigation has revealed the tread may be coming apart.

Dallas ISD Discontinues Use of Vans for School Transport

Dallas Independent School District and its transportation provider, Dallas County Schools, discontinued the use of private 12- and 15- passenger vans for student transportation beginning Monday, September 30, 2013. This came after a parent outcry following a local news investigation concerning the safety of these vehicles.

5 Texas And 6 Ohio Teens Killed In Fatal SUV Accidents

Four teens riding in an SUV in the Texas panhandle were fatally injured when their SUV collided with a gas tanker truck. The driver of the truck was seriously injured in the fatal crash; he was taken to the burn center in Lubbock and last listed in critical condition. The gas tanker ignited after the collision, engulfing both the semi and the SUV in flames.
