In July of 2015 3-year-old Stephanie Martinez fell approximately five stories to her death at an Embassy Suites in Anaheim, California. Stephanie and her family were visiting California on a trip to Disneyland. Stephanie's parents, Jesus Martinez Avila and Alejandra Sandoval Duran, brought a lawsuit against the hotel's owners and the property management company that controlled the premises on the date of the fatality. The lawsuit alleged negligence against the defendants which resulted in the death of the toddler.
A lawsuit was filed in Harris County on October 11, 2018 against L.A. Fitness International LLC by a woman complaining of injuries she sustained after a treadmill malfunctioned and caused her to fall. The woman's petition alleges that the fitness center failed to warn of the dangerous condition or failed to make the condition reasonably safe. She further alleges that the trip and fall caused her to sustain serious bodily injury. The woman is seeking to recover her reasonable medical care expenses, past, and future; past and future physical pain and suffering; past and future mental anguish; and her loss of earnings.
A lawsuit was filed in Harris County on October 1, 2018 against Party City Corporation by a woman complaining of injuries she sustained at the party supply store. The woman's petition alleges that the party supply store failed to keep its premises safe. She further alleges that the slip and fall caused her to sustain physical injuries, including disfigurement, physical impairment, lost wages and mental anguish, among others.
In November 2015, Tommy Fry was a passenger on the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride at Universal's Islands of Adventure in Florida. Unfortunately, the ride got stuck and Mr. Fry was left hanging upside down for an hour. He filed suit in March 2017 for an unspecified amount of damages.
