Houston, Texas – As many lawyers know, law school can be not only demanding of one’s time and energy, but also on one’s bank account. Fortunately, the Mexican-American Bar Association of Texas Foundation (MABATx Foundation) will host its Twelfth Annual Scholarship Luncheon benefitting Hispanic law students. The Luncheon will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the DoubleTree Hotel located in downtown Houston. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding law students who best exemplify leadership, commitment, justice, and equality within the Hispanic community and beyond. “It is important that we encourage a new generation of lawyers to not only be great lawyers but to also give back to the legal community,” said attorney Benny Agosto, Jr., Founder and President of the MABATx Foundation, and Partner at Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner in Houston. Scholarships are awarded to law students from each of the three Houston-based law schools. The MABATx Foundation is a non-profit organization founded to encourage justice and leadership within the Hispanic community.

The MABATx Foundation’s Twelfth Annual Scholarship Luncheon will include a keynote address from former Houston Oiler and entrepreneur Dan Pastorini. As always the luncheon will honor pioneers of the community who exemplify the ideals of the foundation.
