LogoAs many lawyers know, law school can be not only demanding of one’s time and energy, but also on one’s bank account. Fortunately, the Mexican-American Bar Association of Texas Foundation (MABATx Foundation) will host its Fourteenth Annual Scholarship Luncheon benefitting Hispanic law students. The Luncheon will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the C. Baldwin Curio Collection by Hilton (formerly the Downtown Doubletree Hotel). The scholarships will be awarded to outstanding law students who best exemplify leadership, commitment, justice, and equality within the Hispanic community and beyond. “It is important that we encourage a new generation of lawyers to not only be great lawyers but to also give back to the legal community,” said attorney Benny Agosto, Jr., Founder and President of the MABATx Foundation, Current HBA President and Partner at Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner in Houston. Scholarships are awarded to law students from each of the three Houston-based law schools. The MABATx Foundation is a non-profit organization founded to encourage justice and leadership within the Hispanic community.

The MABATx Foundation’s Fourteenth Annual Scholarship Luncheon will honor pioneers of the community who exemplify the ideals of the foundation. This year the honorees include: Judge Maria T. Jackson of the 339 th Judicial District Court, Harris County (Outstanding Service in the Judiciary), Arun Roy of A3H Foods (Outstanding Service in the Community as a Business Executive), Khambrell Marshall of KPRC-TV (Outstanding Service in the Media), Kim Ogg District Attorney of Harris County (Outstanding Service as a Public Servant) and Dean Guter (Lifetime Award).

It should be an exciting event for all! We look forward to seeing you there!
