Earlier this year, Selby Cluff accepted a job offer from Eric Buffington to work as an apprentice hair stylist at Salon Demi, an upscale beauty salon in Spring, Texas. At no point during her employment was Ms. Cluff notified by management of the hair salon that Eric Buffington was a registered sex offender.
On March 31, 2018, Ms. Cluff attended the wedding reception of a co-worker at Ashelynn Manor. Also present at the reception were Georgia and Eric Buffington and several other co-workers. Following the reception, Georgia and Eric Buffington accompanied Ms. Cluff and her co-workers to District 249 Sports Bar & Grill. While at the bar, the entire group consumed excessive amounts of alcohol. Ms. Cluff was 19 years old at the time and should have not been served alcohol. After leaving the bar later that night, Eric Buffington took Ms. Cluff to their place of employment, Salon Demi, and sexually assaulted her while she was severely intoxicated. Houston Police Department has an open, ongoing criminal investigation into this matter.
