( Press conference with Attorney Benny Agosto JrHouston, TX) – Houston attorney Benny Agosto, Jr. has filed a personal injury suit against Burton Construction Company of Harris County on behalf of the wife and children of Juan Cuevas for the October 5 scaffold failure which resulted in the severe head injuries of Mr. Cuevas.

The lawsuit alleges that Mr. Cuevas suffered severe brain damage when the scaffold he was working on collapsed at a construction site located at 2925 Richmond Avenue, Houston, Texas 77098. The construction site is controlled by Burton Construction Company, the general contractor for the site.

According to the preliminary reports, the scaffold Mr. Cuevas was working on collapsed and his safety line was severed in the process, causing him to fall to the ground from over seven stories. Following the fall, Mr. Cuevas was taken to Ben Taub Hospital and treated for severe brain damage. He is currently in a vegetative state due to the injuries he sustained from the fall.

The Cuevas family alleges that Burton Construction Company was negligent in its management of the construction site by failing to maintain a safe work place. The lawsuit also alleges that Burton failed to follow proper safety procedures.
