The Houston law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner is hosting a press conference today, May 16 th at 12:00 p.m. (CST) to discuss the lawsuit. .

Houston attorneys, Mo Aziz and Reed Burritt, of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner have filed a lawsuit against CenterPoint Energy, Inc., Antwine Electric, and TE Connectivity Corporation for their reckless disregard of safety leading up to and during Hurricane Harvey.

Their negligence resulted in the tragic death by electrocution of Andrew Pasek, who died while attempting to rescue his sister’s cat. The incident occurred on August 29, 2017 in the Bear Creek Subdivision after it had been inundated by flood waters. Mr. Pasek was only one of the many people endangered by Centerpoint’s failure to cut off the power to an area they knew to be flooded. This danger was compounded by the faulty installation of defective electrical lighting that electrified the surrounding water in which many people were working to try and rescue individuals and pets stranded by the flood.

One of the purposes of the lawsuit is to affect changes in the manner CenterPoint Energy manages its electricity grid during foreseeable natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods.
