Benny Agosto, Jr., a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and 2013 Peter Perlman Service Award recipient, is a partner at the Texas law firm of Abraham Watkins.

The Houston personal injury firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner congratulate firm partner Benny Agosto, Jr. for the honor of being selected among the first to receive the Peter Perlman Service Award. Mr. Agosto has been selected by the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA) to receive the Award in recognition of his commitment and contributions to the Houston community, the Hispanic community, and the improvement of the legal profession overall.

Mr. Agosto is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Fellowship with the LCA is limited to no more than 3,500 attorneys from across the country who have demonstrated superior advocacy skills and who have maintained the highest ethical standards.

The inaugural class of recipients of the Peter Perlman Service Award consists of LCA fellows who have gone above and beyond in service to their respective communities. In the words of the award’s founder and namesake:

“The profession of law not only allows us to advocate on behalf of those whose rights need to be protected, but gives us a platform to improve the quality of life for those not engaged in the legal system. The betterment of society, the environment and our way of life, improvement of the positions of people who have faced challenges outside their control, and effecting change on behalf of those without a strong voice are all causes we should take on as professionals as we work within one of the very pillars of our government. The practice of law is what we do, but our opportunities to protect and defend transcend the profession.”

The law firm of Abraham Watkins, along with the Litigation Counsel of America, believes that Mr. Agosto exemplifies the characteristics sought to be championed through the Peter Perlman Award.

In life and in his legal practice, Benny Agosto, Jr. is committed to fighting injustice and assisting the underdog. His career journey to becoming a successful personal injury lawyer was recently featured in Super Lawyers and Texas Monthly magazines. Mr. Agosto was selected as the 2013 recipient of the Peter Torres, Jr. Community Service Award by the Hispanic Issues Section of The State Bar of Texas and was an attendee of the White House’s first annual Hispanic Business Leaders Forum this year. He is the founder of the Mexican-American Bar Association of Texas Foundation and a former President of the Hispanic National Bar Association
