Attorney Benny Agosto Jr(Houston, TX) Attorney Benny Agosto, Jr., partner at the Houston personal injury law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner, has been selected to the 2019 Top Latino Lawyers list by Latino Leaders Magazine. This marks Mr. Agosto’s fourth consecutive year to be named to this list. He was previously recognized by the magazine as one of the Top Latino Leaders in the U.S. in 2016, as one of the 25 Most Influential Hispanic Lawyers in 2015, and as one of the 101 Most Influential Leaders in 2011 and 2012.

Latino Leaders Magazine is a national publication that strives to advance the Latino community while connecting and promoting Latino leaders across the country. The Top Latino Lawyers list is published annually and close to 70 lawyers were selected in 2019. The selection process considers ownership/partnership of a practice or law office, successful cases, professional activity and recognition, community involvement, selection to the Super Lawyers list, and recognition as a powerful Latino(a)s in the legal field. Mr. Agosto is board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been practicing personal injury in Texas for 25 years. He represents individuals and family members who have been harmed by the negligence of others in cases involving catastrophic injuries, explosions, workplace accidents, wrongful death, and product defects. While maintaining his legal practice at Abraham Watkins, where he is a firm partner, Mr. Agosto is also a leader in the community. He is the 2019-2020 President of the Houston Bar Association, the first Spanish-speaking President of the HBA, and is currently leading one of the largest metropolitan bar associations in the United States. During his presidency, he has focused on diversity and inclusion, leadership, professionalism, literacy, and lawyer wellness. Mr. Agosto is a former President of the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Founder and President of the Mexican-American Bar Association of Texas Foundation (MABATx Foundation), and the Founding Editor of the South Texas College of Law Houston Hispanic Journal of Law and Policy. To date, the MABATx Foundation has raised close to $350,000 for scholarships for Hispanic law students in Houston.

In addition to recognition by the Latino Leaders Magazine, Mr. Agosto has been recognized on the annual Texas Super Lawyers list for 15 years and the Top 100: Houston Super Lawyers list for three years. He is also a former recipient of the Presidents Award from both the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association, the Outstanding Public Service Award from South Texas College of Law Houston, and the Top Latino Leaders Award from the National Diversity Council.
