Fatal Crash Kills Two, Leaves Three More Injured

A fatal crash involving a wrong-way driver left two people dead. The crash occurred on the southbound lanes of US-59 in Sugar Land on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

According to officers, a Toyota pickup was driving in the wrong direction when it crashed into a Chevy pickup at about 4 a.m. Unfortunately, the Toyota driver, as well as a passenger, were killed. Both men who died were in their late teens or early 20s.

Further investigation revealed that two children believed to be 12 to 15 years old, and one adult man were transported to the hospital. Thankfully, the children and the adult man are expected to survive, according to the police.

At the time of the incident, all main lanes of I-69 northbound and southbound at US-90 were closed after the incident. The crash was cleared and all lanes were back open following the major crash at around 10 a.m. on the following day.
