American Airlines Employee Dies Due to Injuries Sustained in an Incident at Austin Bergstrom Airport

On Thursday, April 20, 2023, an American Airlines employee working at Austin-Bergstrom Airport in Austin, Texas, died from traumatic injuries sustained at Austin-Bergstrom Airport. Not all details pertaining to the Incident have been disclosed at this time. However, news outlets are reporting the employee was injured in a “crash” that occurred “on the tarmac.” Allegedly, an airport employee was driving a ground service vehicle that hit a jet bridge, causing the now-deceased employee to be fatally injured.

Austin County EMS first responders were called to Austin-Bergstrom Airport around 2 pm that day. Not long after that, the APD vehicular homicide unit was called to investigate the incident. The vehicular homicide unit has not concluded its investigation at this time.
