Driver Injured when Struck by Freightliner and His Truck Overturned

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers investigated a two-vehicle crash on Monday February 20, 2023, on state Highway 73, just east of MM 750 in Jefferson County, Texas.

According to the preliminary crash investigation, at around 4:50 p.m., a 1999 Freightliner was traveling westbound in the outside lane. A 2012 Ford pickup was traveling west also. The driver of the Freightliner changed lanes into the inside lane when the driver of the Ford also changed lanes into the inside lane in front of the Freightliner. The driver of the Freightliner then swerved to the right trying to avoid the Ford and struck the Ford in the back right, causing the Ford to leave the roadway and then overturn.

The driver of the Ford was identified as Raymond Anderson and was transported to a hospital in Clear Lake for further treatment.
