Two Dead in Northwest Side Crash Involving Dump Truck in Bexar County, Texas

Two were pronounced dead as a result of fatal crash involving a dump truck on the San Antonio’s Northwest Side. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office says a second person died following the two-vehicle crash. John Hayes, 63, and Jesus Delgado Garcia, 25, were both killed when their vehicles collided around 3:20 p.m. on the access road of North Loop 1604, near the access road of I-10 and not far from Valero Way.

The crash happened around 3:22 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at N Loop 1604 near I-10. San Antonio Police Department said a driver was traveling east on the access road in a dump truck when he ignored a red light. The 18-wheeler struck a BMW SUV traveling south on the I-10 access road. SAPD said the driver of the BMW, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the dump truck, Jesus Delgado Garcia, 25-year-old, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead on January 19, 2023.
