One Dead, One Seriously Injured After Fatal Crash in Jackson County, Texas

On a Saturday in mid January, 2023, around 12:30 p.m., a two-car wreck occurred on Highway 35 and FM 1862 and CR 470 near Carancahua Community. Reports from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office show that the two vehicles collided on the highway before blocking the road, causing delays in the area.

According to an announcement by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, one person was declared dead at the scene as a result of the the two-vehicle accident. Another person had to be life flighted to the hospital with serious injuries and is in an unknown condition. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office’s investigation into the cause of the fatal wreck remains ongoing.
