Millions of Recalls from Fisher-Price and Kids2: Suffocation and Death Hazard in Infant Sleepers

Fisher Price is taking heat yet again for a defective baby product. The recalled product at issue is the Rock n’ Play Sleeper, which was recalled on January 9, 2023 after being sold by Fisher Price since September 2009. Over 4.7 million Rock n’ Play Sleepers are effected by the recall, which was triggered by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) after multiple fatality incidents occurred with infants rolling to their stomachs or sides while unrestrained in the Rock n’ Play Sleeper.

The recall involves all models of the Fisher Price Rock n’ Play Sleeper. The Rock n’ Play Sleepers were sold at juvenile product stores and mass merchandisers nationwide and online, including Walmart and Target stores and Amazon.com. Fisher Price is offering refunds to consumers who purchased the sleepers.

In addition to the recent Fisher-Price recalls, popular baby brand Kids2 has recalled over 694,000 Kids2 Rocking Sleepers. The recall is due to a potential choking hazard, and it is applicable to all Kids2 Rocking Sleepers. Multiple infant fatalities have occurred from infants rolling from their backs to their stomach or side while unrestrained in the lounger. The Rocking Sleepers were sold at major retailers nationwide, including Walmart, Target and Toys “R” Us and online from March 2012 through April 2019. Kids2 is offering a refund for the defective rockers, and urging parents to stop using the rockers immediately.

Families who have lost a child because of these hazardous products should know that they have legal options and are entitled to pursue compensation from the companies that created the defective products involved.
