Chicken Pattie Recall Due to Plastic Found in Meat

Foster Farms recalled over 148,000 pounds of fully cooked frozen chicken patties that were shipped to Costco distribution centers in several states. Consumers around the country who purchased the frozen food from Costco have made numerous complaints of hard and clear pieces of plastic found in the frozen chicken breasts. Foster Farms recalled the following item: 80-ounce plastic bag packages containing 20 pieces of “CHICKEN PATTIES BREADED CHICKEN BREAST PATTIES WITH RIB MEAT” with best by date “08/11/23,” establishment number “P-33901,” and lot code “3*2223**” in inkjet print on the back edge of the packaging as well as “7527899724” under the barcode. One major concern with this recall is that the frozen chicken patties were produced on August 11th of 2022, and they do not “expire” until August of 2023. The hard plastic pieces that are embedded into the frozen breaded chicken breasts could potentially be sharp and cause harm to consumers.
