One Teen Killed, Three Critically Injured in Alleged DWI Crash in Harris County

One teenager died and three more were put in critical condition as the result of a high-speed crash that occurred in northwest Harris County on January 2, 2022. The wreck happened at 2:45 a.m. when a 17-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle, which had three other teenage passengers. After the driver lost control of the car, it drove into a retaining wall at Grand Parkway.

There was an 18-year-old in the passenger seat of the vehicle who died at the scene. The 17-year-old driver and two 14-year-olds who were in the backseat were all hospitalized in critical condition as a result of the wreck.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s office, the 17-year-old is suspected to have been drunk when he crashed the car, and intoxication manslaughter charges are pending.
