EXPLOSION AT WESTLAKE CHEMICAL PLANT WITHIN 4 MONTHS OF PRIOR EXPLOSION AT WESTLAKE CHEMICAL PLANT IN SEPTEMBER, 2021

At least 6 were injured in an explosion at Westlake Chemical Plant that shook Westlake, Louisiana on the morning of January 26, 2022.

The incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. at Westlake Chemical’s south plant after an empty Ethylene Dichloride tank exploded. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the explosion at the chemical manufacturing plant.

Westlake Chemical Plant also reported an explosion on September 27, 2021, which injured at least 22 people. Abraham Watkins Law Firm represents several injured workers from the September 2021 explosion.

Abraham Watkins’ managing partner, Benny Agosto Jr. issued a statement shortly after this explosion on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 “Once again the Westlake Chemical Plant had an explosion, and workers were put in harm’s way. We are working hard to seek justice on behalf of the workers from the explosion in September.”

The recent explosion creates many questions and safety concerns at the Westlake Chemical Plant sites. Unfortunately, far too often we see workers that sustain significant injuries, which prevents them from ever working again or their ability to provide for their families.
