Exxon Explosion, Baytown, Texas

On December 23, 2021, an explosion occurred at ExxonMobil Oil Refinery in Baytown, Texas. At least three (3) people were transported by air ambulance as officials responded to the “major industrial accident.” The explosion occurred around 1 a.m., where Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident and asked the residents to avoid the area following the blaze. As the four contractors worked, a metal piece became stuck on a bolt, prompting one of the Team Industrial workers to use their wrench “as a hammer” to loosen the piece. The other Team industrial worker, who was tasked with ensuring that steam was sprayed on the area to prevent sparks, failed to do so, according to the two injured workers.

Two of the injured workers have filed a $10 million lawsuit against the oil and gas company.  At the law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz, & Stogner, we have successfully represented injured people and families of severely injured or deaths in catastrophic injuries and plant explosions.
