20 Killed in Limousine Accident Due to Catastrophic Brake Failure

A recent limousine accident claimed the lives of 20 people when the limousine’s brakes failed. A young man rented a limousine for his wife’s 30th birthday. The plan was to pick up their friends and drive them all to a nearby microbrewery. As they were driving down a hill, the limousine’s brakes failed, causing it to speed out of control and crash into a nearby store. The accident claimed the lives of 17 people standing outside of the store, along with the driver of the limousine and two (2) people inside of the store.

The accident has been attributed to the limousine company’s “terrible neglect of safety,” leading to the brake failure. The company had received multiple notices of safety violations for neglect to repair its vehicles prior to the Incident. Further, an inspection confirmed the limousine involved in the Incident had a braking problem just one (1) month prior to the Incident.
