Ms. Wallace’s lawsuit alleges that NuWave, LLC markets its pressure cookers as having safety features that are meant to prevent pressure from accumulating in the cooker if its lid is not closed correctly, as well as prevent the cooker’s lid from being removed until all the pressure is released from the cooker. However, Ms. Wallace’s suit alleges that the Nutri-Pot contains defects, causing the user to remove the top of the pressure cooker when it is still under pressure, causing its searing hot contents to erupt upon the user.
