Parent Sues Local Baseball Team Over Daughter's Head Injury in Bouncy House

A mother in Dakota County, Nebraska recently filed a lawsuit against the Sioux City Explorers baseball team over a serious head injury that her daughter suffered on July 7, 2018 in a bouncy house on the recreation area for children next to the baseball field.

According to the allegations, the then six-year-old girl was playing in the bouncy house, when she fell through a hole about 12 to 14-feet high and landed on her head. After falling, the child was unconscious and was taken to a local medical center. She was then life-flighted to Children's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, where she underwent neurosurgery for the head injury she suffered as a result of the fall. According to the allegations, the child continues to suffer cognitive medical injuries and manifestations, as a result of the head injury.

The lawsuit alleges that employees for the Explorers knew there was a hole or tear in the bouncy house and that it was not safe, but they allowed children to play on it without fixing the tear or preventing children from accessing that part of the bouncy house and without warning parents about it.
