First Ever Diversity Summit for Lawyers and the Community Upcoming

Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the United States. We see it every day in all of our activities, and perhaps take it for granted. But diversity has not always been the status quo, or even an encouraged status. But times have changed, and diversity is now an ingrained aspect of our society, and especially so in Houston.

Recently, Benny Agosto, Jr. became President of the Houston Bar Association. One of the pillars of his term is celebrating diversity. To that end, on July 11, at Townes Auditorium, South Texas College of Law Houston, a one-day CLE event on Celebrating Diversity will be held. Speakers include a veritable Who’s Who of local jurisprudence, including seven judges, many prominent local attorneys, and Harris County District Attorney, Kim Ogg. Tickets are only $75 per person and include the CLE plus a networking event to be held immediately following.

Attendees, besides participating in a unique, first of its kind event, will also receive up to 5 hours of CLE, including 4 hours of ethics credit. This promises to be a groundbreaking experience, celebrating the diversity we have, and exploring the issues surrounding diversity for both lawyers and the community at large.
