Former La Espiga De Oro Employee Sues For Relief in Excess of One Million

A Harris County man Jorge Velazquez, filed a complaint in December of 2017 against his former employer La Espiga De Oro, seeking in excess of one million dollars in general and special relief. The injury is due to the alleged negligence and gross negligence of his former employer.

Plaintiff was injured on July 25th, 2017 while working with a tortilla machine. The Defendant removed the safety guards from the machinery, making those working with it more vulnerable to injury. Mr. Velazquez, a minor at the time of the injury, was cleaning the tortilla machine when his hand became caught, causing part of his finger to be severed in the machine.
