4 Injured in Rollover Accident on Sam Houston Parkway

A violent two-vehicle collision between a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Chrysler, sent four people to the hospital early Wednesday morning. According to the Houston Police Department, the collision occurred at 3:00 a.m. on the South Sam Houston Parkway feeder road at South Post Oak.

At the time of the accident, the Jeep Grand Cherokee was heading west on the feeder road and a Chrysler was heading north on South Post Oak. Investigators said one of them ran the red light, causing the vehicles to crash into each other. The severity of the impact caused the Jeep to roll over and slam into a metal light pole, and the Chrysler to fly off the road and slam into a gas pump at a Valero gas station.

Two individuals were in each vehicle. The crash resulted in all four individuals being transported to a local hospital. At this time, three of those four passengers are said to be in stable condition, and one of those passengers is said to be in serious condition.

The Houston Police Department is investigating who ran the red light, and will be testing both drivers to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the incident.
