Benny Agosto Featured on Telemundo National News

Firm Partner Benny Agosto, Jr. had an interview with Telemundo on Monday February 23, 2015 about President Obama’s administration’s plans to appeal U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen’s injunction order regarding immigration. The interview ran nationally on Telemundo’s nightly news. As an advocate of comprehensive immigration reform, Mr. Agosto has been a national leader on this issue.

The Obama administration has filed an appeal of last week’s ruling by U.S District Judge Andrew Hanen that placed an injunction on the presidents’ immigration executive order. The appeal is requesting that the injunction be removed in order for the program to continue until it works its way through the appeals process. Judge Hanen’s injunction came just days before the executive order was scheduled to begin. The executive order would allow for undocumented immigrants who meet certain requirements to be able to apply for a work permit and would provide them with protection from deportation. It is estimated that it would allow 1.46 undocumented immigrants in Texas to begin working legally.
