Texas car accident kills 1, injures 2 children

With so many cars on the roadways of Texas at a given time, accidents are going to occur. While most of these are minor, and in many cases nobody is injured, this is not always the end result. According to police, a two-vehicle accident in Austin has killed a woman and injured two children.

The woman, believed to be in her forties, was driving in a Dodge Neon with two children and a man. It was at that point that they collided with a truck driven by a man. The accident occurred at 7:13 a.m.

A 12-year-old girl was transported to Round Rock Medical Center with a head injury. The other child, a boy, was transported to Dell Children’s Medical Center for treatment. The Austin-Travis County EMS said that both could have critical injuries. Both of the men, including the one driving the truck, refused medical treatment.

When Emergency Medical Service workers arrived on the scene an off-duty nurse was attempting to revive the woman; however, she was pronounced dead at 7:22 a.m.

Immediately following the accident traffic detectives made their way to the scene. No charges have yet been filed.

This is the type of car accident that you never want to hear about, with one person being killed and two young children injured. At this point, there is no additional information on what caused the accident; however, police will continue to investigate. The family of the deceased woman, as well as the two children, will now begin to search for answers on how to best deal with the future.

Those that have a family member killed as a result of another driver or victim’s who suffer injuries do have a right to pursue compensation through the civil courts. While a monetary judgment won’t take away the pain, it can help with the financial difficulties of final expenses, medical bills and other damages.
