Woman Injured Riding A Party Bus

Lauren Guerra filed suit after her face was hit by a tree branch while riding a Starline party bus. Her lower eye socket was shattered and the lower muscle was damaged. Photos showed her eyes going in opposite directions in addition to extensive bruising.

Ms. Guerra was invited to sit on top of the bus, which was filled beyond seating capacity. While traveling at approximately 45 mph, Ms. Guerra was hit in the face by a tree branch and has incurred more than $20,000.00 in medical expenses.

Ms. Guerra’s suit comes on the heels of the tragic loss of Mason Zisette, who recently died while riding a Starline party bus. On July 10, 2014, Mr. Zisette, who was also sitting on top of the bus, was struck by a concrete overpass. Despite that tragedy, Starline continued to invite and allow passengers to ride on top of the party bus. Ms. Guerrero has sued Starline Tours for failure to ensure sufficient clearance for passengers on the top deck, failure to hire competent and qualified drivers, and failure to understand “route awareness.”
