Texas car accident kills 1, injures 9

When a car accident involves more than one vehicle, especially in the event that many people are driving in each car, the chance of injury or death is much greater. According to police, a car accident in San Marcos killed one person and left nine others injured. The six vehicle accident occurred on Texas 80, and as a result the person who is believed to have caused the trouble is being investigated for intoxication manslaughter.

A 25-year-old man was driving a Nissan with three passengers in his car when he prepared to make a left turn. At that time, a man driving a Dodge failed to stop behind him, thus hitting the car in the rear. As a result, the Nissan was sent into oncoming traffic and subsequently struck by a truck and a car. From there, it hit a Department of Public Safety vehicle.

The driver of the Nissan was immediately taken to the Central Texas Medical Center, however, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Nine others were taken to the hospital for treatment, with one remaining in serious condition.

Police said the 20-year-old driver of the Dodge is being investigated for intoxication manslaughter. Following the accident, he was transported by air to Brackenridge, where he was treated and later released.

This story shows that a mistake by one person can lead to a lot of trouble on the roadway. Not only were nine people injured and one killed, but the driver of the Dodge could now be facing criminal charges. Additionally, those injured as well as loved ones of the man who died could file a lawsuit.
